For several years, I have been designing and planting this large garden for clients on the Mediterranean island
of Mallorca. With extremely hot, dry summers and limestone dust for soil, this is a testing environment. But
having explored and studied gardens in Italy, France, Spain and the similar climates of California and
Australia, I could not wait to get started.
With the help of my colleagues, Stuart Barfoot and James
Aldridge, as well as skilled contractors and craftsmen, a landscape of formal gardens, subtropical
borders, wildflower hillsides, olive orchards and succulent gardens is now taking shape.
And I am much looking forward to working on other projects in the Mediterranean.
